Why an Eastern Name and Theme for ZenFusion?

Why did we decide to have an eastern name and theme for our Hair, Beauty and Health Spa if the African version of these business types is so much more popular in this day and age?

Well, we wanted to create a business that blends together the mysticism and reality of the east and express it in the here and now in our western culture.

The word “Zen” is approximately 1200 years old and is the Japanese atempt at pronouncing the Chinese word “Chan”, which in turn is the Chinese attempt at pronouncing the Sanskrit word ‘Dhyana’, which translates as ‘meditation’.

Zen literally means to live fully and authentically in the present moment. Living in this manner makes each instant of one’s life a peak experience. Each moment is filled with a profound peace and clarity. Each moment is perceived to have infinite depth and significance, charged with magic and mystery, infinitely precious. Zen brings us face to face with our true original nature, undefiled by cultural conditioning and painful neurotic tendencies.

Fusion literally means the blending together of things.

The name was therefore chosen to represent the brining together of an ancient way of life with our hectic and neurotic lifestyle today.

ZenFusion is a place where the “old” blends together with the “new” and creates a moment in your current life where you can fully experience the peace and tranquility that is truly you!

At ZenFusion we offer you a brief moment to escape your hectic life and be at peace with yourself!

Our Logo: The Ensō

We have chosen to use the Ensō as the essence of our logo.

In Japanese the word Ensō (円相) means “circle” and is a concept that is strongly associated with Zen. The Ensō is not a character. It is a symbol which represents the Absolute, Enlightenment, Strength, Elegance, the Universe and the Void.

It is also the expression of the moment when the mind is free to simply let the body and spirit create.

The Ensō refers to the living principle, the movement of life, to what Zen masters call the function. The circle must be grasped as dynamic, not as static. It must therefore be seen as the dynamic continuous movement of life.

We selected to go with an open Ensō as it shows that we are not separate but a part of something greater and that imperfection is an essential and inherent aspect of our existence.

For us the open Ensō shows a definite beginning in the Universe and a definite end that flows back into the Universe to show that we will always be a part of all that was and that is!

Although we strive for perfection in what we do we also realize that imperfection is part of our existence and at ZenFusion we acknowledge this reality.

Our Colour Scheme: Green

We chose the Colour Green as it represents the beginning of new Life in Japanese. The colour green lowers blood pressure, relaxes the nervous system, calms and soothes the mind, stimulates creativity, and is an appetite suppressant.

Therefore combining the Ensō with the Colour Green symbolizes what we at ZenFusion wish to reflect.
